PCM query

Hi guys, newbie query on PCM. I have my X8- Hplus connected to my Panny TV using HDMI and my Yamaha YSP via optical. The Yamaha can play DD and DTS and these light up when I enable passthrough on Kodi. If I don't enable passthrough PCM comes up on display which I understand is the uncompressed audio coming through. Now my question is if the source file being played in Kodi has DD or DTS 5.1 soundtrack, will the sound going into the Yamaha be a 5.1 signal (i.e. will the Yamaha be playing a...

how to get screen rotation to work (portrait mode)

I'm running :
ro.fota.device=NEO-X8H-PLUS
ro.fota.version=KOT49H.20160114 release-keys

I have changed build.prop for

ro.sf.hwrotation=270
ro.sf.lcd_density=240

have tried (but doesn't seem to make any difference):
const.window.w=1080
const.window.h=1920

Rotation works but, everything only shows in top half of screen. I'm looking for portrait mode, but can't quite seem to make it happen. Worked on X7s ...
Any ideas?

VPN Notification on Main MiniX Screen

After I updated my machine with the latest Firmware KOT49H.20160328 release keys, the VPN function field no longer lights up telling me that my VPN is functional. Is anyone else experiencing this problem with their MiniX X8-H Plus after the lastest update? Thanks

Does the Minix Neo X8-H Plus have the necessary electrical components and grunt to be able to play the HEVC 10bit file format? Will a future firmware upgrade enable the Minix Neo X8-H Plus to play all variations of the HEVC 10bit file format?

Can't connect to 5Ghz

I am using a Netgear WNDR3700 V4 Router running the latest build of DD-WRT and I cannot connect to it on 5Ghz using the Minix Neo X8 H Plus.

The Minix sees the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz signals coming from the router but will only connect to the 2.4Ghz option.

I recall using the 5Ghz a while ago and it worked fine, my ancient Thinkpad laptop connects to the router on 5Ghz perfectly.

Hi everybody. My tv box show me It have ram 1.6 gb. I have a question where is it the rest of ram ? I know the Neo x8h-plus have ram 2 gb. The graphic card shares ram or has itself.

Hi, i just bought a Minix Neo X8-H plus. I am unable to play 4K mkv files on the pre-installed 4k media player. It says format not supported. I have installed mx player with its codecs but I am not able to get seamless playback.
Hope someone can help me.

I just tried to connect thru my browser to the ip of my x8. Connecting on port 8080 gives username/pw prompt. I dont believ i ever set this

might sound stupid but since 2 days I'm trying to update my box and it wont work I spent almost 3 hours therefore and thats much more time than it should take. I still have guarantee and Im sure if I bring the box back I get a new one maybe even my cash back cant use a box which costs me so much time. but just in case the guy in the shop tests the device and thinks everything works fine and doesnt care about my updating problems is there a way to make the box unusable on software level?

Hi All

I'm a newbie to the forum so thought I should stick my head round the door and say hi! I've had a NEO X8-H Plus for a few months now. Have had no issues with it and love it! Since the most recent update though the VPN icon in the top left corner of the home screen no longer indicates if I am connected (permanently greyed out) even when my VPN is connected (have verified that I am connected using geo- location). Just a bit concerned that I would not notice at a glance if my connection...

FW 6.0.A - No more simultaneous HDMI and headphone audio?

I just upgraded from FW 4 to FW 6.0.A and noticed, that HDMI and audio out (headphone) doesn't work at the same time any more?
Only headphone audio works now.
Any chance to revert this annoying behaviour, except of restoring FW 4?
Box is rooted, so I'am able to replace files/configs from FW 4, if necessary.

Dear Minix Team,

I am not getting any OTA upgrades since I bought X8H-Plus 2 years back!!!
My build number shows as KOT49H.20141114

What can I do. I tried to upgrade to latest version using USB ZIP method, but my screengoes all blank when i try to start the device in recovery mode.

No AUDIO after latest Firmware Update 009

I have my Neo X8-H Plus connected to my Samsung TV via HDMI. Prior to updating my Neo to the latest 009 Firmware I would get Audio, no problem. But as soon as I upgraded the Firmware to 009 I am getting no audio what so ever. Any solution?

I was living in Minix bliss land on firmware 007 with Kodi 15.2 Isengard (HDMI to TV) until firmware 008 was released and all of a sardine I was being plagued with the split second audio drops when streaming 5.1 audio, annoying enough to start googling for answers, I was surprised to see it was quite a hot topic. As a side note the VPN logo would not illuminate green when connected which was annoying too but something I could live with.
Woohoo Kodi 16.1 Jarvis is released, well as it turns out...

Unable to wipe cache partition

Hi, I've just updated to the latest firmware (from 007A) using the OTA updater (4 updates in a row :whistle:). I want to wipe the partition cache from recovery, but I am unable to perform it. My Minix always hangs up just after I select it (inmediately message in screen changes from wiping to formatting and... bang!! screen frozen, and the only way to shutdown the box is unplugging power). Last attempt I've been waited for 40 minutes and, the final straw, HDMI signal turns off :mad:
Any advice?...
